Follow the on-screen steps to move your data from the source to the new macOS on the SSD.If you are doing Startup Disk, select your internal drive. (You now have 2 external drives connected). If you’re doing Time Machine, connect the Time Machine drive, keeping the SSD connected.Next, setup macOS, and migrate your data using a "Time Machine backup" if you have one, or a “Startup Disk” if you don’t.External disks are orange and silver in macOS. IMPORTANT: Make sure to select the new external SSD as the installation target for macOS.Name: Could be anything, or a name such as “Macintosh HD”.Click "Erase", and input the following:.It will be the top, non-indented drive in the " External" section. IMPORTANT: Select "View" > "Show All Devices".
